Flask

Again, you’re going to think I promote alcoholism, but that’s not the case. I like some of this old world stuff. And flasks can hold any type of liquid; it doesn’t have to be alcohol. Imagine if some father were to offer you a drink from a flask with skull and crossbones, and you decide to live a little and tilt your head back and get hit with the taste of root beer. That would be funny.

Whiskies

I don’t condone alcoholism in any way, shape or form, but there are some people who are connessieurs of various things. Food, sauces, drinks, basically anything with variety has someone who is interested in learning and experiencing the different nuances of each example. I didn’t even know there were 101 different whiskies available, but if Dad is a connessieur, then this might be something he’ll enjoy. Just make sure he doesn’t try to do this in one night.

Hot Sauce

I think they have a monthly club for everything. It started with jelly, which is fine, but then it found it’s way to hot sauce. That to me is super fine! I love hot sauce, and membership in this club means two bottles of hot sauce from hard to find locations are sent to my door every month. What’s not to love about this?

Pagers went out in the 90s as an efficient means of contacting an important executive, but this type of pager could very well live into the 22nd century. This beer pager is for the dad who is a little forgetful about where he placed his beverage. Of course, if Dad forgets to put his beer on the pager, then you have another problem.

Bottle Plate

As bad as oversized gummy worms are, a snack plate that fits over a bottled beverage is absolutely genius. Both Dad and I agree that the number of times you get caught with a beer in one hand and a plate of food in the other when someone wants to shake hands is way too many. This plate makes it possible to carry both in one hand.

I know the title of this blog is great gifts, but when you are perusing the internet for unique and interesting gifts, you run across the occasional gift that makes you scratch your head and wonder what someone was thinking when they came up with the idea. Case in point, I submit the largest gummy worm. Where do I start with this thing? It looks like someone’s lower intestines or an oversized maggot (gross, I know). The bigger question is who would want to eat it and how ridiculous would you look trying to do so?

Pick your nose

Not literally, but there are these humorous drinking cups with noses printed on the side. So, if Dad is hosting a party and someone goes to take a drink from one of these cups, it looks like they have a different nose. The funniest part is to watch a woman drink from a cup that has a man’s nose and moustache printed on the side.

Snack Helmet
